If you haven’t heard, not only did the latest season of RuPaul’s Drag Race start recently but the successful reality TV show just won its fifth Emmy award for Outstanding Reality Competition. We’re delighted to hear of the thriving series, especially within its 16th season. With every new start comes a time to retrace the web that was spun along the way. Now it’s time for a throwback flashback highlighting our favorite The Widow Von’Du moments from season 12.
1. The Widow Von DU’s RuVeal Walk of Season 12
Saving the best for last, The Widow Von’Du serves during her RuVeal Runway Walk for Season 12. Exuding confidence in her intro and shows us she knows her way with a hand fan. Beaming with confidence and gagging the audience with her glamour, the queen shows her sheer force with that entrance alone.

2. Meet The Widow Von’Du of Season 12
The Widow Von’Du explains her background in this first clip and why she is THAT GURL! From the beginning, she shows us her confidence and love for plus-sized queens and entertainers. Representing the best of Kansas City, Von’Du takes us back to the roots of drags and lets us know she was a force to be reckoned with.
We know this high-fashioned, ratchet beauty will fulfill her dream of meeting Erykah Badu part of the inspiration behind the famed name.
3. The Widow Von’Du vs GiGi Goode’s legendary lip sync battle from Season 12
Our glamorous, glitzy, C-U-Next-Tuesday queen shows us how a big-personality, big-bodied queen werks the stage in the first challenge of Season 12 during “Lip Sync for Your Life.” Getting down and captivating the judges including our Rap Motha “Nicki” Minaj, Widow busts it down in a performance of Nicki’s top bop “Starship.” We all had to give credit and kudos to The Widow’s flawless performance which even gave Miss Minaj LIFE during one of her greatest hits – even though she secretly disliked the song and no longer performs it.
And Widow still shows that sheer determination through performance even today; so Nicki, if you need another dancer for your queen city, The Widow says “give a hoe a call!” She’ll be ready to take off to Gag City and please the crowd!
4. Jan vs The Widow Von’Du – Season 12 Lip Sync Battle
Waking her inner light, the Widow Von’Du brings her emotion during episode 8’s “Lip Sync for Your Life” with star judge Chaka Khan’s masterpiece “This Is My Night.” Showing us what a true Lip Sync embodies, she gives the judges and queens an out-of-Chaka Khan body experience. Can we get some of that soul girl?
5. Jackie Cox & The Widow Von’Du battle it out on Season 12 – Episode 9
Giving us one last star-studded performance, Von’Du pours out her all in episode 9’s Lip Sync Battle! She faces off against Jackie Cox in their unforgettable sparkle performance of “Fireworks” by Katy Perry! Ripping off her pieces like a shooting star, our favorite queen shoots across the stage with glam and glitter.
She definitely lit up Season 12 as a strong-willed contest and we loved every single moment!
